北京师范大学物理系二级教授、博士生导师、校学术委员会委员、物理学学位分会主席。本科毕业于武汉大学,在中国原子能科学研究院获硕士和博士学位。

兼任国务院物理与天文学科评议组成员、中国科学院大学教授、中国物理学会出版委员会委员、《大学物理》副主编、《计算物理》和《原子核物理》编委。

从事热力学统计物理、核理论、计算物理、力学及批判性科学思维的教学与研究,发表论文238篇、出版著作教材6部。

为国务院特殊津贴专家、获中国青年科技奖、教育部跨世纪人才、北京市高等学校教学名师、国家精品视频公开课、明德杰出教师奖、宝钢优秀教师奖、北师大“四有好老师”金质奖章等。

主要学术成绩:

长期从事扩散基本问题及在核熔合裂变物理中应用的研究,近年来主要致力于超重核合成机制的理论探索和小系统非平衡稳定态热力学研究。

1) 重核和超重核熔合裂变的扩散模型
核裂变是一个长期的理论和实验研究课题。在热核裂变方面, 于1989年首先用二维Langevin模拟计算裂变碎片动能分布,提出了有限颈部断裂判据,即过势能鞍点后沿颈部变量的一侧势能壁消失,平均物理断裂颈部半径约为 ,对裂变碎片库仑斥能做了精确计算;尤其是系统地完成了多个核及较宽能区的裂变碎片动能和质量分布的研究,较好地与实验结果符合。研究表明:碎片动能和质量分布主要取决于鞍点到断点的扩散过程。最近,用二维耦合中子发射的Langevin方程计算了裂变碎片角分布和断点前中子发射多重性,均与实验符合。
在重核熔合反应机制方面,基于双中心壳模型提出了一个颈部折叠模型。研究表明:对接触点在鞍点以外的系统(从反应 等形成的重核开始),接触时的初始动能损失和以后的核颈部增长对熔合障碍起重要贡献;用传播子方法考虑了量子效应计算熔合几率,解决了近位垒处经典模型估计的熔合截面比实验值小的问题。开展了形变靶核、同位素依赖性、弹靶中子交换流、颈部折叠效应、反应Q值、近垒量子涨落、位垒动力学回流等一系列超重核的机制和效应研究。计算和预言了一些实验感兴趣的弹靶组合经熔合蒸发反应形成超重核的截面。
相关工作在庆祝国家自然科学基金成立十周年展览会上以墙报形式介绍。

2) 核裂变速率及相关问题的研究
复合核形变势能是一个亚稳态势,裂变速率或亚稳系统衰变理论有着广泛的用途。我们在势能鞍点定义一个平均最后通过时间(MLPT),它比统计物理常用的平均首次通过时间(MFPT) 能更好地描写亚稳态体系的存活寿命,MLPT的倒数是粒子在亚稳态势中位垒逃逸速率的一种很好的近似;发现了通过鞍点的回流强烈地影响着稳态流和粒子通过几率;在理论上将裂变时钟分为三个区间:从基态首次到鞍点﹑鞍点处往返振荡﹑鞍点下滑到断点,分别给出了这三个时间尺度的表达式,其中裂变核在鞍点振荡期间所发射的中子影响它在鞍点处的温度。这对碎片角分布的计算有重要意义。
费曼和Kleinert于上世纪八十年代中期建立了保守系统的变分路径积分方法,获得了一个包括量子效应的有效经典势(ECP),大为改进了半经典近似。我们将其推广到非线性耗散系统,提出了势的局部频率和耦合因子函数的斜率作为两个变分参数,并指出它们是由ECP的极小来确定的;引入非高斯测度来严格积分部分34阶涨落模,给出了ECP的一个新表达式。将这种方法应用于亚稳态衰变问题(如重核裂变宽度),解决了在跨越温度附近危险模的产生和量子涨落轨道积分的发散;还建立了一个快速Fourier变换路径积分Monte-Carlo 方法,可精确地计算量子裂变速率。

3) 反常扩散
有限粒子统计系统和破缺媒体,可能存在反常扩散。我们揭示出在缺乏零频模的环境中,无势梯度粒子的方均位移与时间平方成正比,即弹道扩散,给出了其产生条件:系统记忆阻尼核对时间积分为零,并进一步认为这种扩散的起源是速度相关的耦合;提出了耗散约化因子来修正渐近速度涨落,该系统具有耗散加速度( ),这是一个介于Newton力学和Langevin动力学之间的结果;创新性地建立了非各态历经随机动力学框架,并在许多系统中发现非各态历经特征。研究了在长拖尾Levy噪声驱动下,亚稳态势中的粒子出现位垒逃逸相消的现象,发现其导致Kramers-Arrhenius规律不成立。在Phys. Rev. Lett.发表一篇Comment,解决了二维随机关联势中是否存在超扩散行为的争论;进一步指出随机关联势的有限尺度起着重要作用,此情况下的扩散渐近行为是欠扩散;特别研究了存在高斯随机相互作用的亚稳系统,现其衰变被抑制,这与由于壳修正引起的核裂变障碍相似。
将上述结果应用于核熔合动力学的研究。考虑到在大形变近闭合窗口处,核的集体摩擦降低,提出用欠扩散观点以弥补这个不足,解释了熔合激发曲线随质心系能量增长缓慢的实验事实;还将反常扩散应用于一些具体的小系统,例如:分数媒介中的Kramers速率,位垒通过过程的overshooting现象,有限尺度热传导,辐射场中的弹道扩散等,获得了一系列有意义的成果。

4) 分子马达
基于主方程的双核模型是目前研究超重核合成机制的主要模型之一。我们则用 态主方程描写分子马达的形变与化学势改变,通过计算粒子的扩散系数、流、效率和定向指数,在理论上找到了最佳离散态数:45态,即跃迁速率函数的流和效率的极大值同时达到最大。模拟了单个马达分子在不对称周期势中的梯跳运动,每一梯跳距离为8纳米,计算的力和速度关系曲线与实验观测相一致。将具有结构的分子马达简化为两个弹性耦合布朗点粒子,提出用质心感受的有效势来解释集体运动行为,发现耦合粒子在摇摆棘轮势的质心流大于单个粒子,在涨落棘轮势中结果则相反。还发展了一些数值模拟随机过程的新算法。
